Erick JM Levesque / Artist, Illustrator, Art Project addict

What much can I say,, Art was not an acquired skill or a hobby for me it has always been more of an instinct that I cannot turn off and am forever grateful to have. It bleeds into pretty much all parts of my life.

Like most artists, as soon as I was able to understand how to bring the creativity from within, out into the physical world I just got to doing that and never looked back or gave it a second thought.

Life however doesn't always work out as planned or intended but the art calling does not rest and so the art journey continues.

I am self taught from as early on as I can remember,, perhaps 3 years old. A HUGE fan of cartoons from the get-go, I was eventually exposed to comic books and I would say THAT is when I knew what I would be dedicating my life to creating.

My Graphic Novel series first saw light I would say in middle school and it has just continued evolving since.

After graduating high school, there were no real or straightforward options to have a formal education in the creation of comic books but there was an animation and graphics technology program a few cities off from me so off I went to learn what they had to teach. I can now animate my drawings.

I have since worked on an eclectic variety of art projects.

I have given private classes and tutoring in illustration.

I have owned my own online business.

I've created shirts in a few different processes so far and I am always exploring new options.

I design and create blue prints as well as produce clothing, costumes, and accessories.

I sculpt and as a hobby I sometimes restore or customize figurines. ( I plan to one day create my own action figures of characters from my books so we'll see how that goes.)

I am a part-time tattoo artist.

I dabble in mixology.

If it's fun and creative and allows me to grow in my skills as an artist, I am usually on board.

An innocent onlooker may think this looks like I am all over the place but sure enough, most of these skills I've attained have all been towards a secret greater "if anything was possible" type of goal that I have.

Realistically though, if I can put out into the world what the world of comic books has done for me, I think that would be my life well spent.

In the meantime we art till we drop !!
